About our Church

We are welcoming Baptist church, joined together by our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and our confidence in the Holy Word of God. Our chief desire is to exalt Christ in all things, honoring Him in our worship, in our preaching, and in our manner of life. We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God, and we faithfully proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Our congregation is made up of a mixture of youth, middle-aged adults, and senior saints, worshiping together as one body in Christ. We seek to minister to every age through sound teaching, heartfelt fellowship, and opportunities for Christian service. With a burden for our community, we desire to be active in sharing the love of Christ through faithful outreach and a clear gospel witness.

“All that we do is for Christ’s glory, His honor, and His praise. In a spirit of peace, love, and Christian unity, we extend a warm invitation to all to come and worship with us.”

Cedar Shoal Baptist Church Staff

Meet Our Staff

Rev. Gunne Davis
Senior Pastor

Born in Western North Carolina, Pastor Gunne was raised with strong Christian values and the love of family. He married his beautiful wife, Natalie, in 2000, and together they have three precious daughters. At the age of 25, by God’s grace, he was gloriously saved, and soon after, God placed a call on his heart to preach His Word.

Pastor Gunne previously served in youth ministry and as an associate pastor.  In March of 2025 he began as our Senior Pastor, answering God’s call to lead the church with humility, conviction and a heart for souls.  His greatest joy is preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing lives trasformed by the power of God’s grace.

Fred Quidley
Associate Pastor

Pastor Fred was married to his wife, Patsy, in April of 1973. After accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1988, he answered God’s call to ministry two years later. He earned his associate’s degree in Biblical Studies and has faithfully served as pastor of Unity Baptist Church, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, and Selma Baptist Church, as well as interim pastor at several others. Today, he continues to serve the Lord as the Associate Pastor at Cedar Shoals Baptist Church, sharing God’s Word with a heart for faithfulness and compassion.

Connor Christie
Youth Pastor

Connor Christie was born and raised in South Carolina and grew up going to church. He was saved at the age of 16 and has been on fire for Christ ever since. He met his wife, Bethany Christie in 2019 and married in 2022. Connor and Bethany lived in Alabama for Bethany’s college education and it was there they had their beautiful son Ezra Nehemiah Christie in February of 2024. They soon after moved back to South Carolina in May of 2024. Connor and Bethany were led to Cedar Shoals Baptist Church where Connor answered the call to ministry and started as a Youth Pastor in September 2025. We are excited to have Connor and we look forward to see all the great things God will do here at Cedar Shoals Baptist Church for our youth.
